Volvo
The Volvo Group originated
in Sweden, in 1927, when the first Volvo was produced at a factory in
Gothenburg. This first car, the Volvo ÖV4, was the start of an illustrious
history for Volvo as one of the world’s most successful motor vehicle brands.
Volvo Group sold its Volvo
Car Corporation to the Ford Motor Company in 1999. This allowed the Volvo Group
to focus on the commercial vehicle market where their first model was the
Series one Truck in 1928.
Ford Motor Company in turn
sold Volvo Car Corporation to China’s Zhejiang Geely Holdings Group in 2010 and
it is under this Group that the current range of Volvos are produced, at
various locations around the globe. Come what may, though, the home of Volvo
Cars will always be Gothenbu
