Seat
SEAT, S.A. is a Spanish automobile manufacturer. It was founded on 9 May 1950 by the Instituto Nacional de Industria (INI), a state-owned industrial holding company. SEAT is currently a wholly owned subsidiary of the German Volkswagen Group.
In its 60 years, there was only a short period from 1953 to 1965 when the firm produced its cars exclusively for the domestic Spanish market. In 1965, the company exported some 150 units of its SEAT 600 model for the very first time.
1984 saw the manufacture of the first SEAT Ibiza model, a car with huge presence even today. SEAT presents a range of cars delivering the thrilling combination of superior engineering and pure enjoyment. They are a dynamic, design-driven, young-spirited brand, constantly seeking to create new levels of quality car enjoyment.
In 2011, SEAT presented the more spacious 4WD Alhambra. It’s a family car suitable for even the toughest driving conditions. The new COPA range was launched too. It offered an upgrade of special features on selected SEAT models giving greater comfort and more technology to drivers.
Today, SEAT is the only major Spanish car manufacturer with the ability and the infrastructure to develop its own cars in-house.
